Recently, Zhang Hui, Deputy Secretary-General of both the International Renewable Energy Equipment Recycling Association and the China National Resources Recycling Association ,Committee for Wind and Solar Equipment Recycling, was invited by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) to attend the APAC Wind Energy Summit held in Hanoi, Vietnam. She delivered a speech at the thematic session Circular Economy, Supply Chains and Critical Minerals: Building a Resilient ASEAN Wind Power Industry.

Centering on core topics including the development status of the wind power sector across the Asia-Pacific and ASEAN regions, supply chain coordination, critical mineral security, and equipment recycling, the summit brought together government officials, industry organizations, leading enterprises and technical experts from multiple countries to discuss solutions for sustainable wind power development and industrial chain resilience in the region.

Drawing on China’s practical experience, sophisticated technical systems and industrial achievements in wind power equipment recycling, the Deputy Secretary-General shared insights covering full life-cycle management of wind power equipment, resource recovery of decommissioned wind turbine blades and complete units, green design, green procurement, and high-efficiency recovery of critical minerals.

The Committee’s participation in this APAC Wind Energy Summit has further boosted exchanges and mutual learning between China and wind energy stakeholders across ASEAN and the broader Asia-Pacific in the field of equipment recycling, laying a solid foundation for deeper technical cooperation, project matchmaking and coordinated standard-setting. Going forward, our association will continue to leverage its role as an industry platform to facilitate exchanges and cooperation on wind and solar equipment recycling at home and abroad, and support the high-quality, low-carbon and circular development of the wind power industry throughout the Asia-Pacific and ASEAN regions.
